General FAQ

Q: Is LOOP™ like web hosting? Does it include web hosting?

Yes it does include hosting and it's very similar actually to web hosting too - some people call LOOP™ a "next generation" hosting solution because of all the built in goodies that it comes with. You'll have an FTP account to upload web pages, CSS, flash, javascript and images. It's also true to say that anything you can do with a regular web hosting company, you can do with us.

Q: Is LOOP™ XHTML compliant?

Yes indeed it is. Is your website? Because LOOP™ will respect your HTML code and won't change it, your website's XHTML compliance will depend on the HTML code that you or your designer has created. However if you do insert any system modules onto your web pages, the system will generate XHTML compliant code.

Q: Can I use my own web address? Or do i need to use wxyz.mobiusloop.com?

You can use your own web address, also called a URL or domain name. You can either redelegate your domain and use our DNS servers. Or you can create an A-Record in your existing DNS service to point your domain to your new site at LOOP™ - it's up to you. For instructions on this, see our knowledge base article.

Q: Can I run Javascript, CSS Stylesheets and Flash on LOOP™?

Yeah, sure! Anything you can run on another HTML page or on your blog will work just fine. Remember that at a base-level LOOP™ is like any other web hosting platform.

Q: Can I run LOOP™ on my own servers?

LOOP™ is a hosted service and is not available as a download, so you can't install it on other servers. Trust us - this is a good thing. Managing, configuring and maintaining servers is a hardwork. Servers can be picky and have mood swings. Just ask our engineers - you don't want to carry around a machine that goes "BEEEP* at 3am in the morning, just because one of the servers feels like a fresh shrimp omelette.

Q: Does LOOP™ include POP email?

Yes, LOOP™ includes a POP3 email service and webmail, too!

Q: I've already got a CRM solution that works for me. Can I still use LOOP™?

Yes, but you won't get the full benefit of having everything "all-in-one". You'll need to import and export contact information back and forth between the systems in order to use the email marketing solution. If you've got some programming skills and some spare time, there is an API built to help you sync your customer databases that you can leverage.

Q: I've got some PHP code on my web site that my nephew programmed for me. Can I use that?

Our goal was to create a platform that fulfilled the needs of 90% of all business people, so they didn't need to get their nephews and granddaughters to program for them. So the answer is no, you can't run PHP, ASP or other server-side code. But you can probably replicate the functionality, and then maintain it yourself without a problem.

Q: Am I locked in to LOOP™ if I start using it? How do I get my customer data out?

No! We don't believe in "locking" people in. You can use the built-in report generator to export all your customer data, including cases (web form submissions) and ecommerce orders.

In terms of web pages, images and the like, these are easily exported using FTP - simply log in and download them.

Website FAQ

Q: Is LOOP™ a Web Site Builder or a Web hosting platform?

LOOP™ is both! It's a hosted application (it runs in your web browser) that helps you build, manage and maintain your website. It is also a web hosting platform, with FTP access and storage space. We've rolled your website management tools, site building tools and web hosting all into one place. It's easier that way!

Q: Can I use Dreamweaver to build my web pages?

We love Dreamweaver too! In fact we love it so much that we built a plugin for it, it's called Triangle. Triangle allows you to manage your LOOP™ website directly inside Dreamweaver. Triangle works on Mac and PC (On Mac Dreamweaver CS3 only,On Windows Dreamweaver v8 or Dreamweaver CS3). Download Triangle.

Q: Do I need to know programming or HTML to add content to my web pages?

No you don't. If you can use a word processor then you can add content to your web pages. Keep in mind though, that things like the overall design, layout and "look" of your site may require help from a designer or someone who knows a little bit of HTML or CSS.

Q: Can I use my own web address? Or do i need to use wxyz.mobiusloop.com?

Q: I've heard solutions like LOOP™ aren't Search Engine Friendly. Is LOOP™ Search Engine friendly?

Of course! We use friendly URLs throughout and utilize search engine friendly techniques such as 301 Permanent Redirects. We even integrate with Google, Yahoo!, and Live sitemaps feature, so the system regularly and automatically generates a "sitemap" which the search engines use to ensure your website gets maximum visibility in the search results.

Q: I already have a website, but LOOP™ sounds neat. Can I copy my site across?

Yeah sure! You've got two options - when you sign up you can import your site. LOOP™ does it's best to import all your pages and so forth into the system (use the advanced sign up though). Alternatively you can create a blank site and FTP all of your pages up to the system. There are some limitations to this though - it won't create any Templates - just web pages, and it can only bring across the pages of your site. Some Blogs can also be imported directly, 

Special parts of your site such as shopping carts or others will need to be recreated in LOOP™.

Q: Will I be locked in if I sign up to LOOP™?

No, not at all! We believe that it's your website and your data, we just look after it for you. You can export customer records, and you can access all your web pages via FTP. Or you can copy your web site out of the system via copy and paste. You would lose the business functionality and the special features of the LOOP™ system though, of course.

Ecommerce FAQ

Q: Is there a limit on the number of catalogs or products in my online shop?

Not at all. You can have as many catalogs and products as you like.

Q: Can I sell electronic products such as eBooks and MP3's?

Oh but yes! With LOOP™ you can sell both physical goods and electronic products. With electronic products you can set rules as to how many times and where they can be downloaded from after a customer purchases them.

Q: How can I collect payments on my shop?

There are a number of ways you can collect payments on your online shop. You can use any of the existing payment gateways already supported, e.g. Authorize.net, Google Checkout, PayPal and many more. Or you can opt to use the "Process Offline" method that captures payment details from customers and you can then process these manually using your existing point-of-sale (POS) system. You can also enable customers to choose to pay by Check and COD.

Q: How does LOOP™ handle shipping and handling costs?

LOOP™ allows you to create as many "Shipping Options" as you like, for the countries that you sell your products in. Your customer simply selects the appropriate options at check out time! You can also configure shipping options so only the relevant options appear that meet the weight and volume of the current products in the cart. Alternatively you can take advantage of the integrated shipping with FedEx, UPS, DHL and Australia Post, where shipping charges are calculated on the fly based on the shipping destination and the weight/volume of your products.

Q: How can I customize the look and feel of my shop?

LOOP™ provides a high degree of customizability. This means you have complete control over every element of your online shop and can customize it to look how you like. This includes colors, layout, CSS, checkout form and fields and more. You can even customize the checkout process.

Q: Do you take a cut of my online sales?

Nope! LOOP™ doesn't take any cut from your sales. However your payment gateway or your bank may charge you a fee to process your payments.

Q: I've already got an eCommerce solution, but I want to try LOOP™. How can I migrate?

Getting started with LOOP™ is quite simple. Simply export your products from your old system and arrange them into the import file format. You can then import this file and have your shop replicated in LOOP™ in a few minutes. In fact you can continue to manage your entire shop from this single Excel file. You can manage products, catalogs, prices, taxes, groupings and so forth from this file. Alternatively you can use the web-based interface to manage your online shop.

CRM FAQ

Q: How many inquiry forms can I create?

You can create as many inquiry forms as you like, to use however you want :)

Q: How do I enable SMS notifications for my inquiry forms?

You can use the integrated Workflow framework to choose who you want notified each time a customer enquires and how you want them to be notified, e.g. via email, SMS or both. If you want SMS notifications you simply buy a suitable SMS pack.

Q: Can I customize the look and feel of my inquiry forms?

Sure you can. When you paste the HTML code for any of your web forms into your web pages, you can completely change the layout and use your own CSS to customize it to look however you like.

Q: Is there a limit on the size of my customer database?

No, there isn't :)

Q: Is there limit to the number of customer inquiries I can receive in any month?

Absolutely not.

Q: What happens if a customer submits the same inquiry form multiple times?

Each time a customer submits an enquiry form, LOOP™ creates a new case. Cases are linked to a single customer record. So you won't get duplicate contact records - just multiple cases.

Q: Where does LOOP™ save all the enquiries and customer details?

LOOP™ includes a fully fledged contact and case management solution. That sounds pretty crazy, but it's not - it just means that all customer details are saved in a contact database, along side the web form submission details.

Email Marketing FAQ

Q: How can people subscribe to my lists from my website?

LOOP™ gives you the HTML code for a subscription form that you can put on your web pages so your customers can subscribe to your lists. You can paste this code onto any web page regardless of where it is hosted.

Q: How many email marketing templates do you have?

There's around 200 professionally designed and themed templates that you can use for your email newsletter campaigns. Alternatively you can use your own designs for your newsletters.

Q: What if I want to use my own templates that my designer made for me?

Yes you can! You can create your own templates and save them to use again and again.

Q: I tried to send a campaign but it hasn't been sent out yet?

Because LOOP™'s trial mode includes email marketing solution, we need to protect against evil spammers! We do this by approving all campaigns by hand. Until you upgrade to a paid site please allow up to 8 hours for your email newsletters to be approved.

Q: How many email newsletter campaigns can I send out each month?

As many as you want! However any plan with email marketing allows you to send 10,000 email newsletters per month at no cost. If you want to send out more then you'll need to buy more email newsletter packs.

Q: What if I want to send more than my allocated 10,000 emails?

No problem - you just need to buy an appropriately sized email credit pack and you can start sending.
